It’s also worth inspecting older plastic containers.
If they’re cracked, scratched, warped, or heavily worn, replacing them is generally a good idea. Damaged surfaces may be more difficult to clean thoroughly, and worn containers are more likely to degrade over time.
None of this means plastic must disappear entirely from the kitchen.
