A man gets pulled over for speeding.

1. The Fastest Trip Home
A man is pulled over after speeding down the highway.
The officer walks up to the driver’s window and says, “License and registration, please. Any reason you were driving so fast?”
The man takes a deep breath.
“Officer… would you mind if I stepped out for a second?”
Curious, the officer nods.
Once they’re standing beside the patrol car, the officer repeats, “So, what’s the emergency?”
The driver points toward his car.
“My wife is sitting in the passenger seat.”
The officer glances over. “Okay…”
“And my mother-in-law is in the back.”
“So?”
“She’s been staying with us for three months.”
The officer folds his arms. “I’m listening.”
“This morning they had the biggest argument I’ve ever witnessed. My mother-in-law announced she was moving back to her own house, and I offered to drive her.”
The officer still looks puzzled.
The man lowers his voice.
“I’m just trying to get her home before they make up.”
The officer blinks.
“Because if they patch things up… she’ll come back with us.”
The officer tries to stay professional.
Fails completely.
After laughing for a full minute, he wipes his eyes and says, “Get back in your car.”
“I’m still getting a ticket?”
“No.”
The officer flips on his lights.
“I’m giving you a police escort.”
2. Grandpa’s Real Excuse
A patrol car pulls up outside Grandma Bessie’s house.
The officer helps Grandpa Morris out of the passenger seat and says kindly, “Ma’am, we found your husband wandering through the park. He said he got lost and couldn’t find his way home.”
Grandma Bessie narrows her eyes.
“Lost?”
She looks directly at Morris.
“You’ve walked through that park almost every day for the last thirty years.”
She folds her arms.
“How exactly did you get lost today?”
Grandpa waits until the officer looks away.
Then he leans close to his wife and whispers,
“I wasn’t lost.”
“No?”
“I was just too tired to walk home.”
3. The Ducks’ Vacation
A police officer stops an elderly man driving an old pickup truck.
The truck bed is overflowing with ducks.
The officer sighs.
“Sir, you can’t be driving around town with all these ducks.”
The old man smiles politely.
“What would you like me to do?”
“Take them to the zoo.”
“Yes, Officer.”
The man tips his cap and drives away.
The next afternoon, the officer sees the same pickup.
Same truck.
Same ducks.
Only this time every single duck is wearing tiny sunglasses.
The officer pulls him over immediately.
“I thought I told you to take those ducks to the zoo!”
“I did.”
“You did?”
“Sure did.”
The old man grins.
“They loved it.”
The officer points at the ducks.
“Then why are they back here?”
The old man chuckles.
“Well… today they wanted to go to the beach.” 😄
